Ryu-Industries is Dead +Edit

Wed Nov 19, 2008, 8:53 PM
I can't stand this name and just how OLD this account is anymore, really. It feels like I've accumulated a lot of garbage since I started here in '02. This page is seriously stale to me and I just can't handle it anymore, ahaha.

Switched to a new account, have a couple pieces uploaded, and will upload there from now on.

If you want to follow me, than do it over here:

So long!

Edit: I'm going to completely strip the contents of my current gallery within a week or so. Just as an FYI.

It's old art that I don't want in my gallery anymore, but it's my art, it's traced my path here, and it means too much to me to truly part with it. I'm saving all of it to my hard drive.

So, if there's a piece in particular that you really, REALLY like, I'd download it now.

I need your help.

Would you buy that Claire Taubenhaus record based on the cover alone if you saw it in a store, and how important is the cover to you when you can't preview music?

Tell me why, or why not, that cover would help you buy it.

Thank you, guys. I appreciate it. :3

Right now.

Only the digital copy right now for ten, the CD version (12) is coming in December.

All I can say is I feel elated to finally release this collection of music to you all. And I thank each and every one of you that go ahead and buy this album of mine. What started as a seemingly impossible dream for me not even a couple months ago is now turning into a reality.

And I know I can make this bigger. For myself, and for all of you. So I need your help.

I want you to spread the word around. However you can. To anyone that might be interested.

I want to share this music with EVERYONE, and the only way I can is with your generous assistance. Vulp-Vibe encourages "piracy", so, if you buy the album, I want you to send it along to your friends. :3 I want you to advertise this in your journal. I want you to listen to this, get inspired, draw something and link back to this.

Every little bit helps. Thank you guys so much for making this dream of mine a reality.

Feel free to add me on myspace.com/fauxtrax . I'll be updating it more frequently now. <3

I love you guys.

"Color IQ test!"

Thu Oct 30, 2008, 12:31 PM
For all you artists out there who DON'T keep up with the fabulousness that is drawn.ca:

Just a fun little test designed to see how well you can discriminate between colors. The lower the score, the better. There's no science behind it, it's really just for funsicles.

I got a four, discerning between purple and pink isn't my bag, apparently. XD See how you do!

In other news, I'm really kind've concerned over the fact that I draw cartoons but don't WATCH cartoons. It's been probably a year or two since I've actually sat down and WATCHED something on the telly, and I wonder what the trends are nowadays for cartoons concerning stuff like art direction, character design, color palettes, etc.

Basically, I guess I'm insecure and would like to compare my style (protip: I don't work in animation, but I would very much LOVE to one day) to what's on these days. Y'know, just to take hypothetical stabs at how other people could see my work and see where trends are going.

I take serious interest in cartoons lulz.
